When I joined the Intentional Job Search program, I sought to transition into my first Tech Product Manager role.
After self-introspection, I was 100% clear about what I wanted; I sought out mentors. I was heavily influenced by Shobhit’s posts and felt he knew what he was talking about.
Intentional Job Search helped me transition effectively to a Senior Product Manager role. Some parts of the program surprised me a lot, including how important and influential it was working with Sam to build out my story and the supportive community part of the program.
I landed a significant role at Animoto and continue to work with the Intentional Product Manager as part of their Product Leader Blueprint and Tribe programs to accelerate my success in the program.

Intentional Job Search helped me land my first Product Management role. Before joining, I wore many different hats in the nonprofit sector where I did work in advocacy, research, program & project management, and sometimes wearing a PM hat.
I had tried breaking into product before the program, but I would never make it past the final rounds of interviews and had trouble communicating a cohesive narrative and story. I had considered PM boot camps but had heard mixed reviews, and thought there was a substantial risk involved. I also knew there would be a job search after a boot camp anyways - so why delay the inevitable? I was really grateful to learn about IJS and have the opportunity to accelerate my search while building skills throughout the process.
The program supported me each step of the way. Any job search is really draining in many ways and having the coaches and support system of the program made a really big difference. I learned how to tell my story better/explain how my experience is relevant to PM, interview much more confidently, improve my resume and LinkedIn, and much more.
I definitely recommend this program to others interested in breaking into product. Seeking out help and resources like this was key to making the switch a reality for me! It's a significant investment - financial, time, effort, etc. - but if you put in the work, the support and feedback you find in this program can take you far.

Before I joined Intentional Program Manager, I was in a decent position. I had a job that paid okay, but I had a strong desire to move and be a "real PM."
I came into it with the mindset of being unsure I even belonged in this product management realm. I was always branded as the banking guy and did not know if I had what it takes to branch out into what I wanted. I needed to know how much I brought to the table.
The program gave me the tools needed to land the proper role for me. I structured my interviews by controlling the time and only presenting what would portray me as the best person for the job. I learned how to utilize every second to make my case.
Shobhit and Sam saw the potential in my experience and the help they provided exceeded my expectations. I was aiming for a PM role, but from their mentorship, I came to understand better of my skills. I eventually landed a Senior Product Manager role that suits my needs and career trajectory.
A message to anyone considering this program: Find a mentor, work with peers, and systematically attack your interview process. These elements are all presented to you through Intentional Job Search. This program is well worth the investment as long as you are willing to come into it with the right mindset.

After fifteen years of being a solution engineer, I decided to venture into the product leader realm. I was coming from a large company and assumed that it would be an easier transition than it turned out to be. I had some calls but saw no real progress. I began to seek out product schools and programs. I had never done this so I was unsure if this was even the right move. My reluctance quickly changed after my call with Shobhit.
Sam and Shobhit guided me through the process step by step and helped me hone in on extracting my experience and telling my story to land the job. I learned behavioral techniques and how to answer product improvement questions. They helped me network better, introduced me to their contacts, pushed me, and kept me accountable.
A word of advice for those looking to join the program: what you put into this program is precisely what you get out. The program is a fantastic learning experience, but you have to be willing to do the work!

Thanks to the Intentional Job Search program, I landed desired product management role!
Before I joined the program, I felt that I lacked the discipline to land this role. I wanted to find something that would give me a step-by-step approach to transition into product management.
I did some certifications, and they helped convince me that the product management role was the right choice as the next step in my career. I also looked through videos and blogs. However, I struggled with articulating myself in my interviews, and I could not communicate what I knew. Certifications were excellent, but they did not give me the direct feedback I needed or encouragement to succeed.
I happened to see a Facebook ad from Shobhit, and in the first call, he gave me the confidence that I could do this!
So I decided to invest in the program.
Through the program, I built confidence to quickly learn the required skills and communicate my experience to land the role.
I got rejected in my first interview after getting to the final round. Shobhit and Sam helped me quickly regain my confidence and change my mindset to double down on my job search.
The coaches helped me translate my experience into product management terms. I had never had a Product Manager title but played the role of an internal PM. I now could tell my story so much more effectively, and I gained the confidence that I could overcome the obstacle of not having a PM title before.
The practice interviews were invaluable. The community was amazing and helped me learn from other people in the same boat.
When I interviewed at my current company, I was not selected for the first role. However, the hiring manager CREATED a product manager role specifically for me! This role gives me a tremendous sense of pride that they went and created this role for me.
I continue to work with Intentional Product Manager through their Product Leadership Blueprint and Tribe programs. I am sure they will have a long-lasting impact on my career. I have found my mentors and coaches in Shobhit and Sam.
I highly encourage everyone to consider this program for landing their dream role! You will not just land that dream role, but you will also build your communication and skills to help you succeed in your career.

I have over ten years of program management experience at Expedia, Microsoft, and Dell, and I wanted to transition to product management. I come from an engineering background and have a lot of industry experience. I wanted to translate that to skills that are required for a product management role and formally transition into product management. I thought I needed some coaching and help that would accelerate the process, and that's one of the reasons I joined the International Job Search Program.
Before I joined the program, I’d been wanting to transition to product management, and I'd been looking by myself at Youtube videos. I was following those and doing a role in my previous job, which I was quite happy with, but there was a need to transition to product management. I'd been doing [that] role for quite a while, and I wanted a change. I was working with product managers, and in my collaborations, I started contributing a little bit, but I wanted the role formally. I thought I should be able to do it by myself, but since [Shobhit’s] LinkedIn post resonated a lot with me, I thought I should reach out. Still, there was always hesitation because I had a full-time job, and I was unsure if there would be time to commit to the program and if I'd be able to follow the program. Once I spoke to [Shobhit], I got confidence because I knew that [he] had done it with several people, and I had confidence in myself that I’d allocate time on the weekends and evenings and then make it happen because that was important for me.
Initially, when I joined, I was going through the [IJS] program that has mindset coaching and story writing for your work. It also has product science and product strategy coaching. I always believed in mindset, which has been part of my routine for several years, but I hadn't needed that push to practice it every day. I knew the theory; I knew that it was good for me. Still, having the visualization, having the 20 minutes to practice mindfulness, and having that intentionality on what you want to do on the day the program got to me because you didn't have to sell the idea that you have to have the right mindset but then having the knowledge and practices are two different things. I think that was a big aha moment, and that played a big role in how I handled challenges in all aspects of life, at home and in my previous job, and in the job search.
The second thing is the behavioral stories, actually writing down your stories. There is a power to that, and that was an aha moment. Previously when I prepared for interviews, I didn't write it down. Then when you write it down, edit it, and then review it with a coach and practice it with a coach, the story comes out very differently. It's a lot more powerful. The interviewer sees how you are, and you showcase the best version of yourself and the structure that the program brings you to make a regular story look amazing.
Often, we have an answer for an interview question, and we need to know whether it has the right complexity or is the right story for a situation. With Sam, reviewing the story and getting input on whether it's the right story helps you go confidently. You may be 80% confident, but when you go with 100% confidence, the game changes.
I got an offer from Amazon for the senior product manager role, my dream role. I live in Seattle, and Amazon is a big player here I'm a big fan of their whole style of product management. So I applied for Amazon, and I had done the practice interviews with both behavioral stories and product strategy stories with IJS, so when I went in for the interview, I had tremendous confidence.
I'd say go for it because [IJS] helps you accelerate your job search. It helps you, especially if you are transitioning from a different role into a product management role. It helps you know from the experts where you are, what the gaps are, what you need to close them, and the right way to interview with confidence. It accelerated the process and helped me gain confidence in applying for and getting the role.
